TRANSFER TSUNAMI: Arsenal’s £60M Dream Scenario Unfolds!

Arsenal Eye Alexander Isak Amid Newcastle’s Potential Marc Guehi Signing

Newcastle United is reportedly nearing a deal to acquire England international Marc Guehi, which could facilitate Arsenal’s pursuit of Alexander Isak.

Guehi, a standout defender for Crystal Palace, has been highly sought after this summer. His impressive performances earned him a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024, where he played in all but one match, helping the team reach the final before a 2-1 loss to Spain.

According to The Telegraph, Guehi is on the verge of joining Newcastle for over £60 million, with negotiations reportedly progressing smoothly and the deal expected to be finalized by the weekend.

This move could significantly impact Isak, the striker Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen to sign. Newcastle, like all Premier League clubs, must adhere to the league’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, which prohibit losses exceeding £105 million over three years. Earlier this summer, Newcastle had to offload several young talents to comply with these financial regulations by the June 30 deadline.

The substantial investment in Guehi might compel Newcastle to entertain offers for their star striker, Isak. Another player, Anthony Gordon, has been linked with a move away from St James’ Park, potentially to Liverpool, which could affect any plans for Isak to leave this summer.

Isak has previously stated his contentment at Newcastle and has no intention of leaving. “I am enjoying myself at Newcastle, and I had the best season in my career,” he told Swedish outlet Fotballskanalen. “I love everything about the club; the fans, and the city. There has been no talk about it at the club and I have received no information that the club would have to sell me.”

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe reiterated in April that the club does not plan to sell their top goal scorer from last season, who is also their record signing at £63 million. “He’s an outstanding talent and no one connected with Newcastle would want to lose him,” Howe said.
