Chelsea’s agreement to pay £19 million for Aston Villa’s Omari Kellyman marks their second acquisition this summer. The 18-year-old, an England Under-19 international, will soon negotiate personal terms with Chelsea, which are anticipated to be straightforward, followed by a medical examination. He is expected to sign a contract for five or six years.
Kellyman, who has played six first-team matches for Aston Villa, including two Premier League appearances last season, is set to join Chelsea under manager Enzo Maresca. This transfer follows the recent free acquisition of Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham and a deal with Palmeiras for promising talent Estevao Willian, who will join next summer.
Concurrently, Aston Villa has agreed to a £37.5 million deal to acquire Chelsea’s Ian Maatsen. The Dutch left-back is finalizing personal terms to complete his move to Villa Park. Borussia Dortmund had shown interest in making Maatsen’s loan permanent but could not meet Chelsea’s financial requirements.
