Manchester United has made a definitive decision regarding Mason Mount’s future following his initial season with the team.

Recent rumors had suggested Manchester United might sell the English midfielder, but transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided clarity. Romano stated on social media, “Manchester United are currently not planning to sell Mason Mount despite reports. Mount is solely focused on Man United after an unfortunate first season and is ready to give his best under Erik ten Hag this season. There are no plans to part ways.”
Earlier reports had linked Mount with a move to three Premier League clubs, indicating that United might offload him along with Brazilians Antony and Casemiro. Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United were reportedly interested in the midfielder. However, it now seems that any potential transfer is off the table.
Expectations were high for Mount at Old Trafford, with a £60 million fee, including add-ons. Mount joined United from Chelsea, where he spent six years and won the Champions League. During his time at Chelsea, he made 279 appearances, scored 58 goals, and provided 53 assists.
A calf injury sidelined the 25-year-old for most of the 2023/24 season, but United fans are eager to see his performance in the upcoming season. Before his move to Manchester, Mount had missed 40 matches for Chelsea and Derby County, where he spent the 2018/19 season on loan. In contrast, he missed 27 games for United in the 2023/24 season.
