BREAKING: Arsenal’s Secret Plan to Sign Kingsley Coman Revealed!
Kingsley Coman Arsenal transfer reality as Premier League loan rules explained
The latest Arsenal transfer news as Mikel Arteta is reported to be eyeing a loan deal for Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman who could arrive at the Emirates Stadium on a temporary deal.
With the summer transfer market into the last few weeks, the Premier League could mean the loan market could become more and more important in the closing stages as teams look to bring players in.
Arsenal could be part of using the loan market, too, with the club linked with a possible deal for Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman over the last few days. The Gunners are said to be weighing up a season-long loan move for the Frenchman, who struggled for regular game time at the Allianz Arena last season.
The loan market can also be a way to sign players if clubs want to complete a signing that may not have as much impact on the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability rules (PSRs) as a permanent signing would. If budgets are tight towards the end of the window then clubs may turn to loan deals.
There are however Premier League rules that restrict the number of loan deals that a club is allowed to do over a season. In the case of domestic loans (loans from another English club), teams are allowed two players from other English clubs at once, but are allowed a maximum of four over the season, but clubs can only loan one player from a single team.
As for loans outside of England, the rules come down to FIFA, which allows six ins and six outs. There is however an exception on club trained players who are aged 21 or under.
The rules combined, means that Arsenal and their Premier League rivals are allowed up to eight loan players in their squad at any time over the season. The one restriction is that a maximum of two can come from other English clubs.
Things will, however, change next summer, with the Premier League bringing their rules in line with FIFA. It means from the summer of 2025, clubs will be allowed six loans in their squad, including the two domestic spots.
Arsenal will therefore have room to move in the loan market this summer, if they so wish to. Even if Coman does come on a temporary basis, up to seven more players could potentially be signed on similar deals.
