SHOCKING PERFORMANCE! Manchester United’s player ratings vs Brighton are IN, and it’s an absolute DISASTER!

Manchester United suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Brighton in Sunday’s Premier League clash.

Yankuba Minteh gave Brighton an early lead, scoring within the first five minutes. United had two penalty appeals waved off before finally being awarded a spot-kick when Carlos Baleba fouled Joshua Zirkzee in the box. Bruno Fernandes calmly converted to level the score.

Brighton thought they regained the lead early in the second half through Joao Pedro, but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review due to a foul on Diogo Dalot. However, Kaoru Mitoma put Brighton ahead just seven minutes later. The visitors sealed their victory when an Andre Onana error gifted Georginio Rutter their third goal.

Here’s how United’s players performed at Old Trafford:

Andre Onana

Struggled throughout, getting a hand to Minteh’s opener but failing to stop it. Looked shaky on Pedro’s disallowed goal, stayed rooted for Mitoma’s strike, and made a costly mistake that led to Rutter’s goal. Rating: 2

Matthijs de Ligt

Shifted to the right of a back three but was caught off guard for Minteh’s opener. This has been a recurring issue. Rating: 4

Harry Maguire

Endured a rough first half, even frustrating fans when clearing a ball Onana could have handled. On reflection, it might have been the right decision. Rating: 5

Leny Yoro

A more composed display compared to his performance against Southampton, though he allowed Baleba too much space to cross for Rutter’s goal. Rating: 5

Noussair Mazraoui

Struggled to contain Kaoru Mitoma, who outpaced him to create Brighton’s first goal and then scored their second. Rating: 3

Manuel Ugarte

Outperformed by Brighton’s midfielders Baleba and Yasin Ayari. Picked up a booking before being subbed off. Rating: 5

Kobbie Mainoo

Showed more energy than in his previous match but didn’t maintain that intensity after the break. Rating: 6

Diogo Dalot

Made a key defensive play before halftime to deny Danny Welbeck but was involved in the foul leading to Pedro’s disallowed goal. Rating: 5

Bruno Fernandes

Converted a penalty with composure to equalize but made several questionable decisions otherwise. Rating: 5

Amad

Showed promise with his pressing, winning the penalty, and looked the most likely forward to score from open play. Rating: 6

Joshua Zirkzee

Impressed with his pressing and won the penalty through his efforts. A lively presence upfront. Rating: 6

Substitutes

Toby Collyer: Had little impact on the game. Rating: 5

Alejandro Garnacho: Went down too easily in the box. Rating: 5

Antony: Played only six minutes. Rating: 5

Rasmus Højlund: Involved minimally, with the ball hitting his back. Rating: 5

Manager

Made few changes and was right to recall Zirkzee, which improved the team’s pressing. However, the team’s lack of finishing power remained a problem. Rating: 5
