BOMBSHELL: Enzo Maresca TEARS APART His Own Player!
Enzo Maresca has openly criticized Mykhailo Mudryk following Chelsea’s 6-2 victory over Wolves in the Premier League.
In a dynamic match at Molineux, Chelsea secured their first win of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
Nicolas Jackson gave Chelsea an early lead, only for Matheus Cunha to quickly equalize. However, Cole Palmer, Chelsea’s standout from the previous season, restored the lead with a precise lobbed goal from distance.
The lead was short-lived as Strand Larsen scored from a well-executed set piece, bringing Wolves level by halftime.
Despite the close first half, the second half was dominated by Chelsea, with Noni Madueke scoring an incredible 14-minute hat-trick, and Joao Felix, returning to the lineup, adding a sixth goal in style.
While Chelsea’s attacking performance was impressive, Maresca was not satisfied with Mudryk’s contribution.
When asked about substituting Mudryk for Pedro Neto at halftime, Maresca explained that the Ukrainian’s performance didn’t meet his expectations.
“I wasn’t happy with his performance. While he worked hard off the ball, I expect more quality from him on the ball,” Maresca said post-match. “He had some good moments today and previously, but I decided to bring Pedro on to give him some minutes.”
Mudryk, one of the early signings under Todd Boehly’s ownership, joined Chelsea from Shakhtar in January 2023 for a reported €70 million.
Since his arrival in the Premier League, Mudryk has made 47 appearances for Chelsea, scoring five goals and providing four assists.
At 23 years old, Mudryk was expected to be the successor to Eden Hazard at Chelsea, but despite a promising start, he has yet to reach the anticipated level of performance at Stamford Bridge.
