BREAKING: Chelsea’s New Squad Numbers Revealed!
Chelsea’s New Squad Numbers for 2024/25 Season Under Enzo Maresca
As Chelsea gears up for the 2024/25 season with new manager Enzo Maresca, the club has revealed updated squad numbers for both familiar faces and new arrivals.
Defenders Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana, along with summer signings Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu, Tosin Adarabioyo, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Renato Veiga, have all received new numbers. These players are training at Cobham ahead of the club’s preseason tour in the U.S., which starts next week.
Chelsea’s preseason fixtures include matches against AFC Wrexham on July 24, followed by games against Celtic, Club America, Manchester City, and Real Madrid through the end of July and early August. They will return to England to face Inter Milan at Stamford Bridge on August 11, before their Premier League opener against Manchester City a week later.
While Chelsea is still linked with potential new signings, the club has already made significant additions, aiming to improve on last season’s sixth-place finish under Mauricio Pochettino and to secure a spot in the Champions League.
Maresca’s new recruits could play a crucial role in Chelsea’s push up the league table. Though their on-field impact is yet to be seen, their squad numbers have been confirmed. Tosin Adarabioyo, the first arrival of the window, will wear the ‘No.4’ shirt, previously worn by Andreas Christensen in the 2021/22 season and historically by players like Cesc Fabregas, David Luiz, Claude Makelele, and Ruud Gullit.
Midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, another key signing, will take the ‘No.22’ shirt, which he wore for four seasons at Leicester. Omari Kellyman will don the ‘No.37’, previously worn by Mason Burstow. Marc Guiu and Renato Veiga will wear ‘No.38’ and ‘No.40’, respectively.
Levi Colwill has chosen to switch from John Terry’s iconic ‘No.26’ to Thiago Silva’s former ‘No.6’ following Silva’s departure to Fluminense. Wesley Fofana has also changed his number from ‘No.33’ to Ian Maatsen’s old ‘No.29’ after Maatsen joined Aston Villa earlier in the transfer window.
