BREAKING: Cristiano Ronaldo Sparks Transfer Frenzy with SHOCK Manchester City Admission!
Cristiano Ronaldo Leaves Door Open for Possible Manchester City Move
Cristiano Ronaldo, the legendary Al-Nassr forward, has remained non-committal about a potential transfer to Manchester City despite the Premier League champions’ recent struggles.
The 39-year-old, renowned for his iconic tenures at Manchester United and Real Madrid, briefly rejoined Manchester United in 2021 before making a high-profile switch to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr in 2022. However, prior to his second spell at Old Trafford, Ronaldo was reportedly on Manchester City’s radar.
Speaking at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards, Ronaldo was asked about Manchester City’s current form and future prospects. He remarked, as quoted by *TEAMtalk*:
“Teams go through phases. There are tough times and good times. City are experiencing a rough patch, but I’m confident they’ll bounce back. Big teams and great players are always smart enough to identify and address their issues.”
Ronaldo also praised Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, saying:
“Guardiola is an intelligent coach who knows how to resolve problems. I’m certain they’ll return to their usual level soon.”
When questioned about the possibility of joining City, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner coyly responded, “You never know what the future holds.”
Manchester City, winners of the last four Premier League titles, have hit an unexpected slump, with only two wins in their last 14 matches across all competitions. They’ve suffered nine losses and conceded 28 goals during this stretch. Their next challenge is a Premier League clash against West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, January 4.
Ronaldo’s Views on Saudi Pro League vs. Ligue 1
At the same event, Ronaldo expressed his belief that the Saudi Pro League offers more competitive challenges than France’s Ligue 1. The Portugal international, who has 215 caps to his name, stated via *GOAL*:
“The Saudi Pro League is tougher than Ligue 1, no question. I’m not saying this just because I play here. People should come and see for themselves—try running in 38, 39, or even 40-degree heat. It’s a whole different challenge. In France, it’s mostly about PSG; the other teams don’t match up.”
Paris Saint-Germain, dominant in Ligue 1 with 10 titles over the last 12 seasons, currently sit atop the league with 40 points from 16 matches, holding a 10-point lead.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo is preparing for his next game with Al-Nassr, set to face Al-Okhdood in the Saudi Pro League at Al-Awwal Park on Thursday, January 9.
