BREAKING: Manchester United Get MAJOR Boost for Community Shield Showdown!

Manchester United is set to face Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium, and they’ve received a significant boost with the return of Harry Maguire to the squad.

Maguire was absent from the team during their 3-0 loss to Liverpool in South Carolina last Saturday due to precautionary reasons, with his availability for the match against City described as uncertain by manager Erik ten Hag on Thursday.

However, the 31-year-old central defender has now traveled with the United squad to London for their first game of the season.

Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Luke Shaw were noticeably missing when the United squad boarded their train at Stockport Station.

“Harry Maguire missed the Liverpool game as a precaution, but he remains a doubt for Saturday,” Ten Hag explained on Thursday. “We still have training to go, and we’ll determine if he’s fit enough to play. The same goes for Victor, Aaron, and Luke; we’ll assess them tomorrow.”

The United team traveled to London by train, just as they did for the FA Cup final 11 weeks earlier.

Seventeen-year-old Harry Amass is also in line to make his debut after starting in all three of United’s pre-season matches in the United States.

Meanwhile, Lisandro Martinez and Diogo Dalot have been re-integrated into the squad following their return from international duties.

The confirmed squad members include:

Onana, Bayindir, Heaton, Dalot, Maguire, Evans, Martinez, Amass, Casemiro, Mount, Collyer, Eriksen, McTominay, Mainoo, Fernandes, Rashford, Amad, Antony, Garnacho, Sancho, Pellistri, and Zirkzee.
