BREAKING: Manchester United’s Worst Nightmare Comes True!

Manchester United Faces Injury Setback Before Pre-Season Tour

Manchester United’s pre-season preparations have hit a snag with an injury concern for defender Will Fish.

Fish, who played in the recent friendly match against Rosenborg, suffered a foot injury during the 1-0 loss in Trondheim on Monday. Although he avoided a fracture, he has significant bruising and will undergo further evaluation in the coming days.

United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, expressed frustration over the aggressive tackling by Rosenborg players during the first half of the match.

“There were many harsh tackles in the first half,” Ten Hag commented. “They disrupted our counter-attacks and caused some serious knocks. However, I believe the players will be fit for training tomorrow.”

Manchester United is set to face Rangers in Edinburgh on Saturday before heading to Los Angeles for a three-game tour starting on Wednesday.

Fish, who has spent the past two seasons on loan at Hibernian in Edinburgh, is now drawing interest from Championship clubs. His current contract with United expires next year.

Fish was included in Ten Hag’s first tour squad in 2022 and was sent off in a match against Crystal Palace in Melbourne. The Stockport-born center-back also captained an academy XI in a 3-1 defeat to Wrexham in San Diego last July.

Meanwhile, new signing Leny Yoro is ready for selection as he was not called up to the France squad for the Olympic Games in Paris later this month.

Ten Hag now has more options in central defense, with Harry Maguire close to returning from a muscle injury and Jonny Evans back under contract.

Victor Lindelof, who reported for pre-season training last week, did not travel to Norway for the Rosenborg match. United is looking to sell the Swedish captain, whose contract also ends next year.
