Chelsea Fans, HOLD YOUR BREATH! Levi Colwill Injury SHOCKER!
Chelsea are now facing concerns over the fitness of Levi Colwill after he received considerable treatment following their 2-1 victory over Leicester City on Saturday. The Blues secured three points to move back up to third in the Premier League, with goals from Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez proving decisive against the Foxes at the King Power Stadium.
However, the victory was marred by a potential injury to Colwill, who appeared to suffer a knock in the final moments of the match. The England defender was visibly in pain and collapsed to the ground immediately after the final whistle. He was promptly attended to by the Chelsea medical team.
Colwill managed to stand and walked towards the away supporters, but limped off the pitch and down the tunnel. The 21-year-old has been a regular starter for Chelsea this season, featuring in all 12 Premier League games so far.
The injury is a worrying development for Chelsea, as Colwill had also withdrawn from the England squad during the international break due to a knock sustained in the draw with Arsenal. Fortunately, it seems that his latest issue is unrelated to that injury.
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca addressed the situation, stating, “Levi wasn’t feeling well last night and this morning, but he was able to play and finish the match. We hope it’s nothing serious.”
Looking ahead, Chelsea will travel to face Bundesliga side Heidenheim on Thursday, before returning to Premier League action against Aston Villa on Sunday. The club is hopeful that both Pedro Neto and Malo Gusto will return to the squad after missing the Leicester match due to injuries.
Maeresca provided an update on the pair, saying, “Malo was with us but felt unwell overnight, and Pedro had an issue with the national team, so we decided not to take any risks.”
