Chelsea Set to Make New Manager Decision Amid Surprise Amorim Twist and Maresca’s Recent Call for Consideration

Chelsea is on the brink of announcing their new manager following Mauricio Pochettino’s exit. The club is moving swiftly to fill the vacancy, with several intriguing names in the mix.

Among the initial candidates were Enzo Maresca, Kieran McKenna, and Thomas Frank, all of whom caught Chelsea’s attention after Pochettino’s departure. However, recent developments, including Roberto De Zerbi’s departure from Brighton, have added new dimensions to Chelsea’s search.

Brighton’s managerial shuffle prompted Chelsea to consider coaches from that background, although some early contenders like Sebastian Hoeness and Girona’s Michel are no longer in contention. This has narrowed down the shortlist to Maresca, McKenna, and an undisclosed “mystery” candidate.

Speculation has swirled around big names like Jose Mourinho and Thomas Tuchel, but the likelier choice appears to be Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim. Despite his recent success in Portugal, Amorim hasn’t been as widely linked to other European vacancies, making him a potentially surprising yet fitting choice for Chelsea’s possession-oriented style.

Confirmed candidates Maresca and McKenna are both keen on the Chelsea job, although McKenna also has admirers at other clubs like Brighton and Manchester United. On the other hand, Leicester City’s current manager is reportedly very interested in stepping into Pochettino’s shoes permanently.

The search is progressing rapidly, with talks underway and significant decisions expected imminently. Rahman Osman from London World suggests that within the next 48 hours, Chelsea will unveil their new head coach, signaling a crucial phase in the club’s future direction under Todd Boehly’s ownership.
