Major teams in the Premier League are in discussions regarding the possibility of acquiring Jack Grealish in a remarkable transfer deal.
One of the Premier League’s top teams has engaged in discussions regarding the potential acquisition of Jack Grealish in what would be a remarkable transfer move.
Grealish, who has been linked with a departure from Manchester City, emerged as the costliest signing in Premier League history following his £100 million transfer from Aston Villa to City in 2021.
Initially finding his footing in Pep Guardiola’s squad, the English talent significantly elevated his performance in his second season, playing a pivotal role in City’s memorable treble triumph.
However, Grealish’s impact this season has diminished notably, particularly on the left flank where his offensive contributions have waned, tallying just three goals and three assists across 35 appearances.
Acknowledging the need to enhance his output in the attacking third, Grealish has expressed his desire for improvement but has struggled to meet expectations this campaign.
Despite having three years left on his six-year deal with City, reports suggest a potential move to Chelsea could be on the cards, with journalist Simon Phillips indicating that discussions have taken place within Chelsea regarding Grealish’s possible acquisition.
Phillips noted on his Substack page that the 28-year-old winger’s reduced role at City has fueled speculation about his availability for transfer this summer, with Chelsea viewed as a potential destination where he could assume a more significant role.
Highlighting Chelsea’s positive transfer history with City, having secured players like Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer in recent years, Phillips hinted at the possibility of a big-money move for Grealish, despite Chelsea’s substantial spending since new ownership took over in 2022.
City notably sold Sterling to Chelsea for £45 million in 2022 and later received £40 million for academy graduate Palmer, indicating a potential avenue for negotiations between the two clubs regarding Grealish’s transfer.
