Man City Fans, HOLD YOUR BREATH! Massive Injury Update Rocks Etihad: Savinho BOOST as Pep Drops MYSTERIOUS Hints on Squad Chaos!
Savinho Set for Potential Return as Pep Guardiola Hints at Injury Status of Key Players
LONDON, ENGLAND – OCTOBER 30: During Manchester City’s Carabao Cup Fourth Round game against Tottenham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Savinho received medical attention for an injury sustained on October 30, 2024.
Good news for Manchester City fans, as Savinho’s injury does not appear to be an ankle fracture, raising hopes that he may be available for their upcoming Premier League clash with Bournemouth.
Pep Guardiola faces a significant injury crisis at Manchester City. With the team already down six players, City suffered another setback in their recent Carabao Cup loss to Tottenham. Manu Akanji had to withdraw from the starting lineup moments before the game, and Savinho was stretchered off during the match. Adding to the concerns, Ruben Dias was substituted at halftime due to an unspecified issue, and Josko Gvardiol was seen receiving treatment after the final whistle.
“You’ll see tomorrow. I have a lot of uncertainties,” Guardiola commented, mentioning that ‘eight or nine’ players were sidelined. “Most of them are 50-50. You’ll find out tomorrow. I’ll speak to some players about how they feel.”
Addressing Savinho’s condition, Guardiola said, “It was a heavy knock, but not a fracture.”
This suggests that Akanji, Gvardiol, and Dias may still be options for the Bournemouth match, and Guardiola mentioned he may bring in younger players if needed.
“We rely on academy players because we’re short in certain areas,” he explained. “Some of them we trust, as we have before. The academy exists for situations like this when we have no other choice.”
Acknowledging the broader trend of injuries affecting multiple clubs, Guardiola added, “We’re not the only club facing this. It’s just the nature of the challenge. We’ll go out there with 11 players tomorrow.”
Guardiola confirmed that City’s other sidelined players would remain out until after the international break, including Kevin De Bruyne (groin), Kyle Walker (knee), Jack Grealish, and Jeremy Doku. Following their Bournemouth game, City will travel to Portugal for a Champions League fixture, then return to England for another away game against Brighton next Saturday.
