Man United to Reject Proposals for 29-Year-Old Amid Speculation of Departure
Manchester United to Reject All Offers for 29-Year-Old Amid Exit Rumours
Manchester United is set to reject any bids for their captain Bruno Fernandes this summer, as the Premier League club views the midfielder as integral to their long-term plans.
According to The Independent, Bayern Munich has expressed interest in the 29-year-old and believes they have a good chance of signing the Portuguese star ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Additionally, Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad are prepared to make substantial offers to Manchester United for Fernandes, with sources informing CaughtOffside that the Saudi Arabian clubs are willing to spend €100m to secure the player.
However, Manchester United considers Fernandes untouchable, and the midfielder’s preference is to remain at Old Trafford for the next season.
The 29-year-old has a contract with Manchester United until 2026, and if the upcoming 2024/25 season does not go as planned, the Portugal international may consider leaving in the summer of 2025, with one year left on his current deal.
Manchester United Unwilling to Part with Bruno Fernandes This Summer
Bruno Fernandes is deemed too vital for Manchester United to lose. Unlike some of their recent signings, Fernandes has been a standout performer since joining the club in 2020. Over 231 matches, he has scored 79 goals and provided 65 assists, proving crucial for the Red Devils.
With uncertainty surrounding Manchester United, especially regarding the future of manager Erik ten Hag, losing their best player would be a significant blow for the club.
While it is understandable if Fernandes feels frustrated at Old Trafford due to the club’s current inability to compete for top honors, it appears he will stay with the Premier League giants for at least one more season, reassessing the situation in the summer of 2025.
