OLISE TO CHELSEA: IT’S A DONE DEAL! Personal Terms Agreed, Blues Close in on Palace Star

Chelsea have nearly finalized their second summer transfer, outmaneuvering Newcastle United. Crystal Palace forward Michael Olise is said to have agreed to personal terms with Chelsea.

The 22-year-old has been impressive, netting 10 goals in 19 Premier League games for Palace during the 2023-24 season. This performance has drawn the attention of top clubs such as Manchester United, Newcastle United, Liverpool, and Chelsea.

According to transfer expert Ben Jacobs, Newcastle has been priced out of the race for the £60 million-rated player. Olise had previously agreed to join Chelsea last summer, but the transfer fell through. Now, he has once again verbally agreed to join Chelsea. GIVEMESPORT reports that Chelsea and Palace are currently negotiating the payment schedule for Olise’s release clause, which exceeds £60 million.

Olise spent seven years in Chelsea’s academy before moving to Manchester City and Reading, eventually joining Palace in 2021. Although Manchester United still has an interest in Olise, they might find some comfort in Chelsea’s previous failure to secure the deal.

Newcastle United, despite missing out on Olise, are still seeking a right winger this summer. They have shown interest in West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen, though he might also be beyond their budget. Additionally, Newcastle is considering 19-year-old Yankuba Minteh, who had a strong loan spell at Feyenoord, scoring 11 goals. Minteh is valued at £40 million by Newcastle, who are now deliberating his future.
