SHOCKING MAN CITY NEWS! “Part of me is leaving…” Pep Guardiola opens up about a HUGE exit at Manchester City!

Pep Guardiola is preparing to say goodbye to a close ally at Manchester City as Txiki Begiristain, the club’s sporting director, is set to depart. Begiristain, who has held the role since 2012, has been instrumental in the club’s success, building a reputation as one of the top executives in football.

He will step down at the end of the season, with Hugo Viana from Sporting taking over. Viana will work alongside Begiristain from February, officially assuming the role after the Club World Cup in July.

Guardiola, whose contract with City expires in 2025, faces a personal loss with Begiristain’s exit. The two share a deep history, having been teammates at Barcelona, where Begiristain was key in giving Guardiola his first managerial opportunity.

Guardiola expressed his feelings, saying, “It feels like a part of me is leaving.” He credited Begiristain as the “architect” behind building top teams both at Barcelona and City. Though he had known about the decision for some time, it will still be difficult to see his friend go.

He added that Begiristain’s presence has been invaluable, especially during tough moments when his calming influence balanced Guardiola’s high energy.

Reflecting on the transition, Guardiola acknowledged the strong structure of the club, expressing confidence that City will continue to thrive, saying, “Families have to move on, and so will the club.”
