SHOCKING NEWS! Harry Maguire has been HANDED A BAN!
Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has been issued a driving ban for speeding in the same location where Cristiano Ronaldo famously crashed his Ferrari, according to reports from *The Daily Mail*. Maguire, 31, was clocked driving at 85 mph on Wilmslow Road, a 50 mph zone. As a result, he received a 56-day driving ban, along with a £666 fine and an additional £386 in court costs and surcharges, imposed by the Bolton Magistrates Court.
The English international had admitted to the offense in October, but sentencing was delayed until January 8. Maguire was not present at the court hearing. The speeding violation occurred on March 5, 2024. Just days later, on March 8, he was caught driving at 68 mph in a 60 mph zone in Sheffield. In September, he pled guilty to this second offense at Sheffield Magistrates Court and was ordered to pay £1,028 in fines.
Interestingly, Wilmslow Road holds significance in Manchester United history as the site where Cristiano Ronaldo crashed his £220,000 Ferrari in 2009. At the time, Ronaldo, then 23, had recently imported the car from Portugal. Although he collided with a wall, no injuries were reported, and the Portuguese forward walked away unscathed.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s Legacy Under Sir Alex Ferguson
Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson, where he developed into one of the sport’s greatest talents. During his time with the Red Devils, Ronaldo played 292 matches under Ferguson, scoring 118 goals and assisting 62 more. In 2009, he transferred to Real Madrid, enjoying nine highly successful seasons before moving to Juventus in 2018.
Ronaldo returned to Manchester United in 2021, initially playing under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was later replaced by Michael Carrick and Ralf Rangnick. In the summer of 2022, Erik ten Hag took over as manager, but Ronaldo’s relationship with the Dutchman deteriorated, leading to his exit from the club in December 2022. He subsequently joined Al-Nassr, marking a new chapter in his illustrious career.
