SUPER STAR Wants OUT of Manchester United After Ten Hag’s Exit! The drama continues at Old Trafford!
Manchester United winger Antony is reportedly looking to exit the club following Erik ten Hag’s departure as head coach. According to UtdDistrict, Antony’s desire to leave stems from limited playing opportunities under new head coach Ruben Amorim (via Football Transfers).
Competing for the right-wing position with Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo, Antony has struggled to secure regular game time. The report further suggests that Amorim is planning a squad reshuffle in January, potentially including Antony among those to be offloaded.
The former Ajax star joined Manchester United in 2022 for a significant fee of €95 million but has yet to make the desired impact. He has managed only 12 goals and five assists in his 87 appearances across competitions for the club.
This season has been particularly challenging for the Brazilian, who has not started in any Premier League matches and has only appeared off the bench twice, totaling 27 minutes on the pitch. In the Europa League, he has also been limited to substitute appearances, playing just 38 minutes.
Antony’s sole goal this season came during Manchester United’s 7-0 Carabao Cup win over Barnsley in September. With his contract running until 2027, a potential sale could see the club incur a substantial financial loss.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Sporting CP’s promising 17-year-old winger Geovany Quenda, following Amorim’s appointment. According to talkSPORT, several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal, are also interested in the young talent. However, the Red Devils may hold an advantage, as Amorim previously coached Quenda at Sporting, where the winger scored on his senior debut.
Quenda, now the youngest goalscorer in Liga Portugal at 17 years and five months, has made 18 first-team appearances, scoring two goals and providing ittwo assists.
