THIERRY HENRY SLAMS ARSENAL STAR! Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has DROPPED A BOMBSHELL, calling out a player he says is seriously frustrating Mikel Arteta!
Thierry Henry has identified an Arsenal player he feels is currently frustrating Mikel Arteta, particularly after Arsenal’s recent 2-2 draw with Liverpool.
Henry suggests Arsenal may need an additional forward as Gabriel Jesus’ limited contribution could be a source of frustration for Arteta.
Arsenal currently sits third in the Premier League, trailing leaders Manchester City by five points. Their position has been affected by the absence of key players, including the suspended William Saliba and injured captain Martin Odegaard.
Arsenal’s defense has been further stretched by injuries to players like Takehiro Tomiyasu and Riccardo Calafiori, and both Gabriel Magalhaes and Jurrien Timber sustained injuries during the Liverpool game.
On The Rest is Football, Henry commended Arteta’s tactical flexibility, citing how players like Thomas Partey have adapted to roles such as right-back, while Timber has played on the left. Henry praised Arteta’s capacity to shift his approach despite missing core players.
However, Henry expressed concerns about Arsenal’s attacking depth, particularly with Gabriel Jesus, who was acquired from Manchester City for £45 million in 2022. Injuries have hindered Jesus’ performance, resulting in 19 goals and 15 assists over 80 appearances, but he has yet to register a goal or assist in 11 games this season.
Meanwhile, Kai Havertz has been more productive, scoring six goals and providing an assist in 13 games, and has primarily replaced Jesus in the lineup, with Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli as Arteta’s other forward options if Havertz is unavailable.
Henry feels that signing another forward would ease the burden on Havertz, giving Arteta more options upfront. Jesus will look to break his scoreless streak in Arsenal’s upcoming Carabao Cup match against Preston on Wednesday.
