Chelsea Announces Andrey Santos Loan Transfer to Strasbourg
Chelsea has confirmed that Andrey Santos will be joining Strasbourg on loan. Santos, a Brazilian international, initially joined Chelsea 18 months ago from Vasco da Gama but was sent back to his former club to finish that season.
After starting the pre-season under Mauricio Pochettino, it was decided that Santos would go on loan to Nottingham Forest. However, it soon became apparent that he wouldn’t get enough playing time there, leading to his recall and subsequent loan to Strasbourg, Chelsea’s sister club.
In the latter part of the 2023/24 season, Santos made 11 appearances for Strasbourg, scoring one goal. Both parties are eager for him to continue his development there. Chelsea has been active in the current transfer window, bringing in new players and letting several go.
In previous windows, Victor Osimhen was linked with a permanent move to Chelsea while Romelu Lukaku was expected to leave on loan. However, the situation has now reversed.
Regarding other potential exits, Conor Gallagher is still undecided about a transfer to Atletico Madrid despite Chelsea accepting their offer. Trevoh Chalobah, who was left out of the pre-season tour squad, is available for transfer, with Chelsea asking for £25 million.
