Cole Palmer, who shone for England in the Euros and ended the 2023/2024 EPL season on a high note, is a fan favorite. Many supporters hope Maresca will adjust his tactics to highlight Palmer’s talents. However, Maresca suggests that this may not be the best course of action.
Addressing the press, Maresca commented, “I understand the desire to see the team built around a key player who consistently delivers. I am fully aware of these expectations.”
“But you also have to always know that any team built around one player is an easy team to stop. I don’t want to build an easy team here. I want to build something very tough.
“Yes I have noticed many players that play for our club and are still out in the National Team competition but still yet remember that we have a system and every player must adapt if they are good enough.”
