HAALAND’S CITY PROJECT: Agent Hints at Eventual Exit for the Norwegian Superstar

Erling Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, recently discussed his future at Manchester City, confirming his commitment to the club while leaving the door open for potential future moves.

Despite Haaland being under contract with Manchester City until 2027, Pimenta emphasized his dedication to the team, stating that he is fully invested in City’s ambitions. Haaland, who joined City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, has had an impressive tenure, scoring 90 goals and providing 15 assists in 98 matches. His accomplishments include two Premier League titles, two Golden Boots, several individual accolades, and a Champions League victory from last season.

Although securing Haaland was a significant achievement for City, there have been indications from his camp that he might explore playing in another league while he remains in peak form. While Real Madrid has shown interest in Haaland, they recently signed Kylian Mbappe.

In an interview, Pimenta refrained from discussing any release clause details but reinforced Haaland’s unwavering commitment to Manchester City. When asked by Flashscore if Haaland plans to spend his entire career at one club, Pimenta responded, “I don’t know, but I think the Erling Haaland project will last over time, over the next few years. It will also depend on trends in football. In any case, one thing is certain today: Erling Haaland feels at home at Manchester City.

“He is 1000 per cent committed to the City project and is already looking forward to the new season with the club.”

These statements should comfort Manchester City supporters. Pimenta also addressed her previous comments on Haaland’s valuation, clarifying that she was referring to his overall worth as a player, not just his transfer value. She noted that Haaland’s value has only increased following his treble-winning season and consecutive Golden Boots.

“When I said that this amount corresponded to ‘his value’, I wasn’t talking about his ‘transfer value’. I was referring to the value of a top player at that age, with enormous room for improvement,” she said.

“And when I said that, he hadn’t even done the treble – a player who finished as top scorer in the Premier League despite being injured for two months… He’s a player with great potential.

“What do I see when I make this estimate? I see all the financial considerations that revolve around him, even though he’s a serious player who works hard, is organised, focused and never gets lost. He’s been at Manchester City for two years now and there’s never been any gossip about him… His profile represents a huge value in the eyes of sponsors and clubs, as well as in terms of shirt sales and media exposure.

“And all that, put together: ticket sales, TV rights, everything Erling will earn over the course of his career, I’m convinced it will exceed a billion.”
