INJURY UPDATE: Savinho’s Fate Revealed After Devastating Debut Injury!
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola provided an encouraging injury update on Savinho after the young player was forced off during his debut in the Premier League match against Chelsea.
Savinho was given a starting role, as Jack Grealish was only fit enough to be on the bench, and Phil Foden had just returned to training, also remaining as a substitute. However, Foden was brought on at halftime after Savinho sustained an injury.
The 20-year-old made a promising start, contributing to Erling Haaland’s goal that gave City a 1-0 lead. Unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury towards the end of the first half and required extended treatment on the pitch before limping off. Though he attempted to continue after the break, he was unable to carry on.
After the match, Guardiola remained optimistic about Savinho’s condition. He mentioned that Savinho had some discomfort in his knee, a familiar issue from the past. Guardiola attributed it to a lack of preparation and training but expressed hope that Savinho would be ready to play by the following Saturday.!
