The World Cup winner has had a limited role in the latter part of the season due to the return of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne from injury, as well as Phil Foden’s exceptional form. Although Alvarez averaged 64.4 minutes per game across all competitions this season, he managed to score 19 goals and provide 13 assists, with 20 of these contributions coming in Premier League matches.

Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo follow in third and fourth, with Phil Foden and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka completing the top six. Alvarez, somewhat surprisingly, ranks seventh with a value of €168.4 million (£143.2m).

Regardless of Atletico’s offer, this valuation underscores Alvarez’s immense talent and near-untouchable status, especially considering the uncertain long-term future of Haaland.
