Manchester United have initiated conversations with the representatives of two managers about potentially replacing Erik ten Hag, less than a day after their FA Cup win.

Following their FA Cup triumph, Manchester United have spoken with two managerial candidates about taking over from Erik ten Hag.

United capped off a challenging 2023/24 season with a 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final, thanks to goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

Despite winning his second trophy with the club, Ten Hag’s position is reportedly in jeopardy. According to The Telegraph, Manchester United have reached out to the camps of Thomas Frank and Mauricio Pochettino.

The report indicates that discussions have been held with representatives of both Frank and Pochettino as United explore their options before making a final decision on Ten Hag’s future.

This week, key decision-makers at Manchester United will conduct a comprehensive review of the season to determine the fate of the 54-year-old manager.

Brentford’s Thomas Frank has impressed over his six-year tenure, while Mauricio Pochettino is currently available following his departure from Chelsea.

During his post-match press conference, Ten Hag responded to the speculation about his job security. When asked about his future, he stated, “I don’t think about this. I’m in a project and we are exactly where we want to be.

“We are constructing a team, and when I took over, it was a mess at Man Utd. We are now on our way to building a team for the future.

“There will be ups and downs, but you can see the team is developing, the team is winning, and ultimately, it’s about winning trophies.

“The team also plays with an identity, but you need the players to be available. You need a strong squad in top football, especially when playing in England and in Europe. The Premier League is highly competitive, so you need a very good squad and players available within that squad.”
