“The Window is Open!” Ruben Amorim Drops BOMBSHELL on Joshua Zirkzee’s Future at Old Trafford!
Amorim Discusses Potential Transfer of Manchester United Forward
Joshua Zirkzee shares a moment with Ruben Amorim after being substituted in the match against Newcastle United.
Ruben Amorim, Manchester United’s head coach, has expressed his desire to retain Joshua Zirkzee during the current transfer window but acknowledges that future developments remain uncertain.
Zirkzee, who arrived at United from Bologna last July in a €42.5 million deal, has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League. This has sparked speculation about a possible return to Italy, with rumors linking him to Juventus.
The 23-year-old Netherlands international faced criticism last Monday when some fans booed him as he was substituted in the first half of United’s 2-0 loss to Newcastle at Old Trafford. He was replaced by Kobbie Mainoo after just 33 minutes.
In the subsequent match against Liverpool, Zirkzee was benched but entered the game in the second half, receiving vocal support from United’s traveling fans. He nearly assisted Harry Maguire in scoring a late winner, but Maguire’s effort went over the bar.
Despite the ongoing rumors, Amorim remains firm in his wish to keep the former Bayern Munich player at the club.
“I want Josh to stay because he gives his all,” Amorim told talkSport. “He works hard in training, but the transfer window is open, and anything can happen. For now, our focus is on training and preparing for the next game. It’s about building on our performances one match at a time.”
Since joining United, Zirkzee has made 28 appearances across all competitions, netting four goals. His last goal came in a 4-3 Carabao Cup loss to Tottenham Hotspur shortly before Christmas.
