Enzo Maresca Greenlights Chelsea’s First Signing, Man Utd Shifts Focus to Alternatives

In an exclusive update, Enzo Maresca, Chelsea’s newly appointed manager, has given the go-ahead for the signing of Tosin Adarabioyo, a free agent from Fulham, according to information obtained by CaughtOffside.

Sources with close ties to the club revealed to CaughtOffside that Adarabioyo is nearing the completion of his move to Stamford Bridge, despite having had opportunities to join several other clubs, notably Newcastle United.

Newcastle United had expressed strong interest in Adarabioyo, but negotiations didn’t reach a conclusion, paving the way for Chelsea to potentially swoop in and finalize the transfer. Talks have reportedly been positive, with the 26-year-old set to sign a three-year contract.

As Adarabioyo’s contract with Fulham neared its end, he was offered to various Premier League and international clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham, and AC Milan.

Manchester United is actively seeking a defender this summer, although sources indicate that their primary target is Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, provided his price tag decreases.

Additionally, Arsenal was presented with the opportunity to sign Adarabioyo but has opted to concentrate on younger defensive talents like Antonio Silva, Leny Yoro, and Ousmane Diomande. Ajax’s Jorrel Hato is also on Arsenal’s radar, as confirmed by notable football columnists.

The future of Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi could also be of interest to Arsenal, with Chelsea and Manchester United previously expressing interest in the center-back.
