“I Am Open” – Justin Bijlow Welcomes Arsenal Transfer Offer Amid Ramsdale Decision
Justin Bijlow Invites Arsenal Interest Amid Ramsdale Speculations
Dutch goalkeeper Justin Bijlow has expressed his openness to a potential move to Arsenal, amidst ongoing discussions about Aaron Ramsdale’s future at the club.
Bijlow, currently playing for Feyenoord, has shown interest in joining Arsenal, describing them as “a nice club” and highlighting his desire to compete at the highest levels of football.
Aaron Ramsdale, currently a backup goalkeeper at Arsenal, is reportedly considering a transfer to secure more playing time after being overshadowed by David Raya this season, having only made 11 appearances. This situation has linked Bijlow, who has eight international caps for the Netherlands, to the North London club.
Bijlow has also been associated with Liverpool, especially after Feyenoord’s coach, Arne Slot, visited Merseyside. Liverpool may be in the market for a goalkeeper as Caoimhin Kelleher is expected to leave this summer, and third-choice Adrian’s contract is nearing its end.
Despite his extensive experience with 143 appearances for Feyenoord, Bijlow is open to the idea of moving abroad, though he would likely serve as a backup at either Arsenal or Liverpool. He mentioned his willingness to explore opportunities overseas, telling Voetbal Zone: “Those are two very nice clubs. It is always flattering to be linked with big clubs. I am ambitious. While I am with Feyenoord, I will give my all and focus on my current team.”
With the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament, Bijlow, who is anticipated to be part of the Netherlands squad, might postpone any transfer decisions until after the competition. Although he has two years remaining on his Feyenoord contract, he did not commit to staying with the club long-term.
The 26-year-old added: “Would I stay at Feyenoord? You never know, that’s football. I am ambitious and if a good club from abroad comes with an opportunity, I am open to it. While under contract with Feyenoord, I will give everything for the club.”
Arsenal’s potential pursuit of Bijlow hinges on Ramsdale’s departure. The Gunners have set a £30 million price tag on Ramsdale, which has reportedly deterred Newcastle United from making a bid.
